MANCHESTER FIRE APPEAL FOR SUNCREAM, HATS AND SOCKS AS FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE RAGING MOORLAND FIRES
If you can help, please do so, they are fighting fires on an unprecedented scale, under extreme conditions.

Greater Manchester Fire Services have appealed for the publics help in providing much-needed items to help the brave firefighters who are courageously battling raging moorland fires in multiple locations around Greater Manchester.

They are in urgent need of the following items:

Insect Repellent

Sun Cream

Baseball Caps

Pairs of Socks, both thick and thin

Bottled Water and sports drinks would also be helpful to keep crews energy levels up as they tackle the worst recorded wildfires in blistering heat.

If you can help, a collection point has been set up at Red Rose Cafe at 237 Bolton Road, M6 7HP.

Many stores have also donated but more is needed.

Our firefighters are putting in long shifts, some as long as 22 hours. They are working under unprecedented conditions and need the support of the public.
