HAVE YOU SEEN THIS CONMAN? 86 YEAR-OLD CONNED OUT OF £50 BY BOGUS CALLER
Police are appealing for information after a bogus caller conned an elderly woman out of money in Salford.

The 86-year-old victim was at her home on Lancaster Road at 11.25am on Monday 23 April 2018 when a man called at the house.

The offender offered the woman £50 to clean her path.

The victim invited the man into her home and gave him £50, but he left without undertaking the work.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the offence.

Detective Sergeant Andy Devine of GMP’s Salford Division said:

“This brazen thief deliberately targeted a vulnerable member of the community who believed he was genuine.

“£50 might not seem like a lot of money to some people, but we take offences of this nature very seriously.

“We would ask anyone who recognises the man in the picture, or who has information about the crime, to contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 8565 135 quoting incident number 1662 of 23/04/18 or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
