POLICE ARE APPEALING FOR INFORMATION AFTER A MAN ATTEMPTED TO RAPE A WOMAN IN STRETFORD
Police were called to reports that a woman had been sexually assaulted in Longford Park, Stretford. The attack happened sometime between 12.50am and 2.30am on Monday 2 July 2018.

The victim was walking her dog through the park when she was grabbed by a man from behind who ripped her clothing and attempted to rape her.

The man is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, aged in his 40s and wearing dark clothes in an unkempt and ragged state. He is described as having a strong Manchester accent.

On Tuesday 3 July 2018, police arrested a 51-year-old man on suspicion of attempted rape. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
