  1. Vincenzo Tavano (21/09/89) of Park Lane, Pointon has been charged with murder, fraud and taking a vehicle without consent.   He has been remanded to appear at Salford and Manchester Magistrates Court later today (27 April 2017).  A 43-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.  At around 7.20pm on Monday 17 April 2017 officers attended a house on Blackburn Street, Trinity and found the body of 61-year-old Giorgio Roncari from Italy.
  2. Detectives investigating the murder of Giorgio Roncari have made two arrests. At around 7.20pm on Monday 17 April 2017 officers attended a house on Blackburn Street, Trinity and found the body of a man. The man, who has since been formally identified as 61-year-old Giorgio Roncari from Italy, suffered injuries which officers are treating as suspicious. Officers have arrested two men aged 27 and 43 on suspicion of murder and both remain in police custody for questioning. Detective Inspector Andy Butterworth of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “We currently have two men in custody however, our investigation doesn’t stop here. “We will continue to put together each piece of information until we have answers for Giorgio’s family and make those responsible answer for their crimes.” Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 5351 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone who has information to come forward. Detective Inspector Andy Butterworth of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “While Giorgio’s family are dealing with the extremely painful news, we are investing our time in actively searching for those responsible for his death. Each piece of information will be dealt with the strictest confidence and however small you may think it is, it may prove to be significant in understanding what happened to Giorgio.
